Playing Catch Up Again

May 10th, 2012

Hello! I took a few weeks off just to relax and get some things done that I had been putting off too long. I did manage to keep up with PL2012 but haven’t taken any photos of the weeks yet. Will do that soon and post. For now I had taken a little vacay from scrapping too which I think I needed. I started back on May 1st and I have been scrapping my little heart out. I am keeping this post short and sweet. Hope not to just pop in and run next time. But for now, here are my latest layouts:

Catchin’ Up

April 10th, 2012

Whoa, time is really just flying by. The weather has been a little wonky but cannot really complain. I cannot believe that Spring Break is over and the kids are back to school. They can’t either. LOL! They are just dying for Summer Vacation! So am I really. Anyway these are my latest layouts. As always, visit my gallery here for credits. Enjoy your day!

Spring Has Sprung

March 21st, 2012

Wow! Can you believe this weather? The kids are loving it and well, yeah, I am too! We have been outside getting things cleaned up and ready for summer. I love the warmth. I loathe the heat but love warm weather for the most part. My pear tree is full of blooms and beautiful this time of year.

Kohen was having such a great time playing outside that he even let me photograph him! LOL! He said, ” Just this time, Mommy”. Mom will take what she can get!

I hope you all are enjoying nice weather where you are as well. I am gonna update with my latest creations today. Keep an eye out for a PL2012 update as well in the coming days. As always, here is a link to my gallery if you want to take a gander at any of these layouts.

Now I believe I will go sit on the porch and enjoy some fresh spring air and some quiet “mommy time”. Caio!

Project Life update

March 6th, 2012

OK here is a look at my progress so far. I am soo excited that I have stayed with this as long as I have. I totally blew P365 for the last 3 years prior. Just missed a day or two and just failed miserably. But this is just right up my alley. I love it.  I am in awe of all of the inspiration that I have found on the internet to help guide me when I am just “stuck”. Especially on Pinterest. If you have a second, follow my PL board on Pinterest so you can keep up with what I find out there! I am going to try to keep this short, I promise. To help cut down on the time it takes for me to create PL posts, I am not going to be listing my supplies anymore at the end of each post. Instead, I have created a listing of the “main” supplies I pull from and you can find that page above under PL2012 Supply List. Of course, if you have a question on an item I used, you can always email me @ da5brownsATgmailDOTcom. Anyway, let’s get caught up, shall we?

Week 5

Highlights: A quote from Kohen. What the kids are doing (games, shows, books) right now. Cell phone bit the bullet so Daddy got me a new one! Yeah! My current “scrapping” playlist. Six more weeks of winter-Groundhog Day! Not much was going on this week as you can see but I managed to squeeze in some tidbits for the week.

Week 6

Highlights: Kohen has always had trouble with eczema during the winter months. I assumed his dry skin rash on his legs was that and was keeping his legs medicated with his eczema cream. Found out this week that it was ringworm and oy! That stuff is nasty. He is all better now. February 8th was my mother’s birthday. She passed away a few years ago and wanted to document that special day (her birthday). Then we have 4H starting back up. This will be Kohen’s first year! Kass is thinking of not doing it this year. Not sure how I feel about that but I really don’t want to MAKE her do it. Just think she is making a poor decision. Kids! Kohen created a masterpiece with his hand and mommy’s ink pad which I mistakenly left out and left the room. Thanks buddy! AND 100 days of school!! Kohen was soo excited!! He brought his 100 things (tootsie rolls) in and all the other kids brought something too! I kept 1 of each for him (penny, balloon, tootsie roll wrapper, bubble gum wrapper, a little plastic ring, eraser, and a paper clip) and tucked them inside a bag.

Week 7

Highlights: Dental visit which made me feel like a new woman! The 14th was my birthday! Kaleb and Kohen’s favorite valentines all tucked away. A little “private” note for my family on Valentine’s Day. Kaleb got to go to the Farm Machinery Show with his father, grandpa, and a couple of other men on Friday. He was so excited so I let him take my camera and he took tons of pics.I added a couple here and  I am adding the rest into a 6×12 insert into this week. Still waiting on my plastics for that and I will add them in. And lastly, my list of books I would like to read soon. Just finished 44 and it was good. Very unexpected ending…caught me off a little. Cannot wait to start book 2.

Week 8

Highlights: Pic of 2 of the kids on our hunt for mommy a new car. Was looking around VW dealers and decided on a Jetta. We ordered one. Yeah! Filed taxes. Shared a couple of my favorite layouts I created that week. Interim Reports. Loving the warm weather that week. Weekly highlights were included. Sciatica pain warranted a visit to my chiropractor. Buddy always finds the “sunny” spot in the house to relax and soak up the rays! This week was a great week for that! Friday school called and Kohen was sick with a fever. We stopped @ McDonald’s on the way home for a Happy Meal for the sick boy.

Week 9

Highlights: Kohen was sick with strep and scarlet fever all week so most of the week was documenting that. The pic of the birds was out the window at the Urgent Care. There were thousands of them!! Kohen printed out some Kung Fu Panda masks to cut out and share with his brother and sister when they got home from school. He also received a lollipop bouquet from our church!!  I stapled a couple of bits from the ribbon on the balloon to his card. My big girl “let” me take a photo of her! YEAH! Kaleb whined and called twice Thursday claiming he was sick so I picked him up and took him to the dr. only to find out he had “schoolitis”. That boy! Guess he felt left out! :( And Dr. Suess Day!! Kohen gave me a bookmark he colored for me and tucked away underneath is his February Behavioral Report–Perfect!! Yeah Kohen!

Wrap-up: Well that catches me up! I used a ton of stuff from my Studio Calico subscription kits as well as Cocoa Daisy. I also have tons of stash from Etsy sellers, Evalicious, Ormolu, and Mish Mash. I also printed some of my own as well as some freebies available on the internet as well as some Lilypad goodies!! OH! My washi tape order came today! Yes! I am beyond excited!! Now to go catch up on everyone’s week 9!! Caio!!

Yeah! All caught up! Now to get my post ready for updating my Project Life! I shall return. Until then, enjoy your Tuesday!

Crazy Weather and Crazy Sickies

March 5th, 2012

I have to admit that I loathe this time of year. The sicknesses are always a free-for-all around my family! My youngest picked up strep a couple of weeks back and developed scarlet fever. Oy! Was it a long week. His temps were going sky high (as high as 106.2) and it was all I could do to get them down with meds and cool baths. He was so miserable. He is a ton better now and as of this evening, he will have officially finished his antibiotic! Me, on the other hand, could use a little pick me up! I have gotten an upper respiratory infection which I seem to get ALOT around this time of year. OH! Did I mention I hate this time of year?! LOL! AND THE WEATHER!! What is up with this crazy weather? Tornadoes, hail, and rain! The next day SNOW? OK! Anyway, I hate the cold so the sooner it warms back up to summertime temps, the better! I am behind on posting my PL progress as well as my latest layouts. I am caught up with them but it was all I could manage was to keep up with the actual projects. Apparently the blog suffered. LOL! I will try to update as soon as I can get a free second. I did work on a new blog design today. Let me know whatcha think. I likey! Dinner doesn’t make itself, unfortunately so off to cook I am. Have a great Monday peeps!! TTYS!

Happy Hump Day

February 8th, 2012

Happy Wednesday all. I cannot believe we got a little snow last night. Not much but a little is better than what we have had. I personally hate the snow but my kids love it.
